Job Title/Location: Shop Supervisor, Journeyman Mechanic – El Centro, Yuma Region
Reports to: Area Manager
Rate of Pay: $90,000 – $110,000
Customary Work Schedule: Flexible, as required to perform duties.
Travel Required: Occasional local and regional travel.
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Supervisor with a background in agricultural machinery maintenance, repair, and supervision. Based in our El Centro location within the Yuma region, the Shop Supervisor will play a pivotal role in overseeing maintenance and repair operations within our agricultural shop, ensuring efficiency and excellence in service delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanics and technicians in the agricultural shop.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members regarding repair procedures, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance.
- Diagnose, inspect, and repair a variety of agricultural machinery, including tractors, harvesters, and other farming equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance tasks to identify potential issues and ensure equipment reliability.
- Order parts and materials necessary for repairs, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance tasks, and inventory levels.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to create a safe working environment for all team members.
- Train new mechanics and technicians as needed.
- The mechanic is required to provide and maintain their own set of tools necessary for performing job duties.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman certification in mechanics or related field preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a mechanic in an agricultural setting.
- Strong technical knowledge of agricultural machinery and systems.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively lead and supervise a team.
- Proficient in reading schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Familiarity with agricultural fabrication techniques and processes, including welding, metal fabrication, and machining.
- Previous experience in a fabrication or welding role within an agricultural environment is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
