Job Description
Farming company in South Monterey County is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk. This position will report to the Payroll Supervisor and will be responsible to generate accurate weekly payroll for salary, hourly and piecework operations.
The ideal candidate will have payroll experience, ability to prioritize workload and meet weekly deadlines. Have attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Verify weekly timesheets accuracy, employee information, including hours worked, pay rates, and other pertinent data.
- Calculate worksheet for regular and piece rate.
- Record Maintenance, updating employee records with changes to job titles, rates, deductions, and other relevant information.
- Ensuring timely and accurate distribution of paychecks or direct deposits.
- Staying up to date on payroll regulations and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Generating payroll reports as needed, sort and count weekly checks by crew to confirm check distribution.
EDUCATION / WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years’ experience as a Payroll Clerk
- Knowledge of piece rate, non-production time Wage Labor Laws
- Knowledge of spreadsheets
- Ability to create organized filing system
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent
