Job Description

Position Summary:

The Market Manager will be responsible for fulfilling Market Retail Clerks Duties (see separate job description) to assist with coverage as needed. The Market Manager will deliver truly great service and create a warm and friendly environment for guests. The Market Manager will also be responsible for the hiring of market retail clerks, training new hires, supervising the daily activities of the market staff and maintain upkeep and organization of the market. The Market Manager will enter new items into the point of sale system and adjust prices as necessary, track inventory, maintain a list of items to be ordered and coordinate receipt of deliveries. Will also be responsible for administrative duties and reviewing documentation as well as coordinating with the growing/harvest personnel.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Previous customer service, food service or barista experience required.
  • Previous customer service or cashier experience required.
  • Previous management experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with marketing and social media management highly desired.

 

License/Certifications:

  • Food Handlers Card

 

Position Essential Functions: 

  • Responsible for training and supervising the Market staff as well as the point of sale system (entering and adjusting pricing). Responsible for tracking inventory and acquiring and maintaining wholesale customers which includes customer outreach, order preparation/invoicing, and fulfillment and the ability to establish/change pricing for wholesale commodities. Sourcing and overseeing products in the market. Managing and posting to the Farm’s social media accounts.
  • Prepares a variety of customer beverage orders while following food safety rules, keep designated work areas clean and organized, assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the smoothie bar. Stock smoothie bar with supplies as needed as well as the Market products.
  • Follow cash handling and register policies. Make sure guests receive proper change after every transaction. Maintain copies of all receipts to be able to balance register at the end of the shift.
  • Managerial Operations include running the day to day operation and manages the Market team, creates their schedule, hires, trains new hires, deals with personnel issues within the department and completes corrective actions notices as required, manage and maintain market inventory (includes retail, food service items, sanitation/housekeeping, and packaging), set team operational goals and oversee day-to-day market operations.
