JOB SUMMARY: The Financial Analyst will work closely with executive management, accounting, and farming to bridge the gap from historical results to predicted performance; increase financial transparency and understanding throughout the Company; and assist with the Company’s medium and long-term financial planning for its farming operations.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: The Financial Analyst reports directly to the Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis. The Financial Analyst will have a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Farming Directors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Preparation and analysis of annual farming budget;
  • Preparation of quarterly farming budget variance analysis and reporting;
  • Preparation of cost/benefit analysis and reporting;
  • Bench marking with other growers;
  • Providing operational analysis to farm management to assist in troubleshooting;
  • Development of analytical tools and processes;
  • Preparation of crop reports for Board review;
  • Field meetings with farm management to gain comprehensive understanding of cultural practices, crop performance, and cost contributing factors;
  • Management and maintenance of specific ranch attribute data;
  • Management and maintenance of Crop Performance Report (CPR);
  • Regression analysis and reporting;
  • Material price analysis and reporting;
  • Labor cost analysis and reporting;
  • Crop defect analysis and reporting;
  • Preparation and analysis of Crop Insurance
  • Performing all other duties and projects, as assigned.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of relevant analytical experience in the Ag industry;
  • B.S. in accounting, finance, or related;
  • High level of commercial acumen;
  • Able to solve complex problems utilizing critical thinking skills;
  • Significant analytical skillset, including the utilization of MS Power BI and reporting tools;
  • Advanced computer software skills with MS Office programs, including writing macros in Excel and other accounting packages;
  • Experienced with ARC-GIS and Famous ERP (or their equivalent);
  • Strong quantitative analysis capabilities;
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build productive relationships;
  • Excellent supervision and leadership of support staff (when assigned);
  • Accurate and thorough Board-level presentation of analysis and financial projections; and,
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

 

Compensation: $100K plus DOE
