About me
To whom it may concern,
I have a strong academic background in Plant protection and Entomology. I have graduated
with a Bachelor Plant protection in Shiraz University, Master of Science and PhD Entomology
from University of Guilan (Iran) with honors as one of the best students in the class. My papers
are published in Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology, Foods, Toxin reviews, Journal of
Asia-Pacific Entomology, Journal of Entomological and Acarological Research, Journal of
Plant Pathology and others.
During my MSc and PhD programs, I have focused on Insect physiology and pest management
with natural products. In the PhD course, our group used Artemisia annua essential oils in two
growth stages against lesser mulberry pyralid, Glyphodes pyloalis. The EOs of Artemisia annua
were encapsulated for the first time, by using nanotechnology and fumigant and oral toxicity
were examined. We were able to obtain a cell line from the haemocytes of Glyphodes pyloalis
for the first time and examine the cytotoxicity of essential oils on it.
I have tended to participate in solving agricultural problems of my society which is a very
valuable achievement since it is really hard for me and many other women to be taken seriously
in the realm of the sciences. In that line, this research, an opportunity I perceive as an
extraordinary opportunity to interact with researchers and scholars from diverse professional
and cultural backgrounds coming from around the World. Moreover, I perceive networking as
a very important step for the integration of different ideas and perspectives pertaining to diverse
issues. Last but not least, I would like to stress that I am fully determined to make the most out
of this opportunity. I believe that being a researcher in your group would not only empower
my career development, but would give me the framework to utilize my full potential. Once
again, I am grateful for considering my application and I look forward to a favorable response.
