Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our storage and distribution operations. This role requires an individual with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach, responsible for managing all warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving. The ideal candidate will also take ownership of the warehouse, transportation, employee management and equipment upkeep while ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving.
- Supervise and oversee the warehouse and transportation employees, including hiring, performance management (write-ups), training, and day-to-day coordination.
- Manage all shipping and receiving operations, ensuring timely execution and proper use of equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot machinery issues and collaborate with the proper service companies for quick repairs. Oversee maintenance and basic upkeep on inhouse machinery (fluids, pumps, motors, hydraulic systems).
- Ensure Def fuel tanks are fully stocked, and trucks are being fueled daily.
- Coordinate with purchasing and sales to schedule efficient pick-ups of loads and deliveries to customers.
- Maintain and foster positive relationships with our Customers and Vendors.
- Keep accurate records, including transportation (DOT/FMCSA), food safety and other government regulated requirements.
- Keep all Vehicle, Driver, and Maintenance records updated in the company software to allow for forecasting and to generate detailed reports for the management team.
- Collaborate with the Food Safety Manager and General Manager to meet the overall company goals.
- Willingness to work six days a week, including Sundays through Fridays, with flexibility to work Saturdays on occasion, depending on holidays, and scheduling demands.
