Position Summary: The Mixed Berries Sales Manager will play a vital role on the Gem-Pack Berries sales team by focusing on FOB and delivered sales for retail, wholesale, food service and specialty accounts. The primary focus of the role will be on selling blackberries, blueberries and raspberries (organic and conventional).

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Establish, grow, and maintain customer accounts
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts to the operational team to ensure inventory levels are up to date
  • Evaluate pricing to ensure profit margins
  • Grow territory topline and bottom-line results
  • Develop sales strategies to increase market share and revenue
  • Analyze market trends and customer needs to identify new sales opportunities and adjust sales tactics accordingly
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and distributors
  • Monitor sales performance
  • Prepare regular sales reports and present findings to management
  • Coordinate between production and supply teams to ensure inventory levels and timely delivery of product

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Understanding of fresh produce supply chain, products, QC/Food Safety, and Operations.
  • Previous experience supporting one or more large retail accounts such as Aldi, Costco, Walmart Etc.
  • Knowledge of produce software / ERP systems such as Famous, Microsoft Dynamics, iTrade Network, and Retail Link
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • The successful candidate will have a track record of leading the identification and execution of new initiatives to drive sales programs.
  • Must be data- and process driven and solutions-oriented.
  • Must be a confident decision-maker with a thorough understanding of the business impact of long-term and sort term sales strategies.
  • Must be strategically driven, able to prioritize issues and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess strong business acumen and provide valued counsel and business perspective.
  • Must possess strong people skills and be able to establish credibility rapidly with key internal partners and build strong links across the business to positively impact business performance.
  • Must bring a track record of gaining the confidence of government agencies and industry groups to ensure that positive working relationships are developed and maintained on behalf of the company.
  • Must enjoy working collaboratively and as part of a team, while also being a self-starter and managing your own time.
  • Critical thinking and reasoned decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

 

Travel Requirements: Domestic and International travel within our grower and customer
locations may be required.

Compensation Range: The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000- $100,000 annually. The actual salary offered will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills, job-related knowledge and work location.
