Job Description

The Marketing and Events Specialist is part of the Marketing Team and responsible for supporting implementation of creative and strategic initiatives that support annual marketing goals. This role will provide administration support to the Marketing Department & Sales Leadership. Key activities include event coordination and consumer response activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Events and Customer Meetings

Coordinate execution of all customer and industry trade shows throughout the year to include booth presentation, sponsorship activation and execution to align with company branding initiatives and communication programs.

  • Coordinate all special events such as remote & onsite customer meetings including catering as requested by Sales.
  • Prepare trade show display and brand activations including preparation of booth graphics & materials and sponsorship activations to align with key messaging & show goals. Includes booth set up & break down, and booth staffing.
    • For large events, lead committee planning, kick off and recap meetings.
  • Prepare and oversee activation of successful use of company Regional Trade Show Tool Kit to maintain consistent Company image.
  • Prepare budget for each event and provide post event budget report to Marketing leadership.
  • Facilitate company and customer hotel reservations and badge registration.
  • Special event planning, including customer relations events.
  • Manage Arti the Artichoke mascot use, and costume check out and maintenance.
  • Source annual Trade Show personnel clothing.

 

Consumer Relations & Response:

Coordinate consumer response to minimize daily disruptions and satisfy consumer need

  • Respond to incoming inquiries, including social messages. Evaluate and forward to Food Safety, coordinate refund processing, incident tracking.
  • Collaborate with Food Safety, Production, and other company disciplines to manage accurate response library
  • Prepare & Distribute monthly reports to key members of consumer response team.
  • Ensure that incoming email process is functioning as intended. Collaborate with front desk personnel to make sure phone decision tree is used correctly

 

Trade Marketing

  • Coordinate product shipment for Syndigo e-commerce platform, reviewing photo content. Maintain current product photo library.
  • Coordinate updates/refresh to Company sell sheet library, Commodity book, Company Power Point Templates. Includes annual content update & maintenance including print production management with design vendor.
  • Assist with preparation of presentations for Sales Team and Company, maintaining current templates and files.
  • Prepare Trade Show and Retail Demo Kit for Artichokes and Season & Steam Line.
  • Support administration of in-store display contests and retail demo activations

 

Other

  • Prepare all Product Sample Requests including shipment and records.
  • Prepare credit card expense reports for Director’s review and approval.
  • Coordinate Customer/Visitor Tours with Sales & Field Personnel and maintain shared calendar entries.
  • Maintain consistency of brand messaging in both visual and print media.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business with Marketing or Communication emphasis preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with fresh produce grower/shipper preferred.
  • Customer Service experience is required.
  • Tradeshow and event planning experience required.
  • Must be able to travel for periods of time throughout the year to attend tradeshows & industry events.
  • Ability to work long or irregular hours.
  • Excellent communication skills are required, with flair for creativity and project management.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desired.
  • Provide excellent customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Must have ability to act independently and make competent decisions without supervision.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills; must exercise a high degree of initiative.
  • Valid CA Driver’s License and be insurable.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient software skills are required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, (i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.
