Job Description
The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the oversight and maintenance of the Tulare Packing house equipment and refrigeration system, including to maintaining all structures and grounds to an acceptable level including building conditions, property aesthetics, landscaping, office condition, and HVAC oversight.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP.
The Maintenance Manager will directly report to and work under the supervision and direction of the Plant Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
The essential job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinating and managing all maintenance and refrigeration activities for the Tulare Packinghouse;
- Troubleshooting refrigeration systems:
- Maintaining facility lighting system;
- Maintaining all structures and grounds to an acceptable level including building condition, property aesthetics, landscaping, office condition and HVAC oversight;
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain machinery and electrical equipment;
- Mechanical troubleshooting;
- Repair and maintain conveyors, belts, chains, motors, heavy equipment, fixtures, hoists, cranes, and plumbing;
- Fabrication and management new equipment installations;
- Procurement and recommendation of materials and equipment required for facility maintenance as approved by management;
- Maintaining safety and security programs and services for the site;
- Testing, reporting, and recordkeeping status of electric solenoids, emergency ammonia dump systems, and all other refrigeration programs as required;
- Maintaining water systems, which include on site-water wells and waste water ponds (maintaining proper levels and performing all required sampling and reporting/recordkeeping);
- Maintaining workplace safety and environmental compliance in coordination with safety manager, management, and all applicable local, state, and federal agencies;
- Maintaining facility and surrounding property to a clean and sanitary standard in order to meet food safety requirements and Company expectations; and,
- Performing all other duties, assignments, and projects as assigned.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS.
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial ammonia refrigeration;
- Experience in troubleshooting PLC controllers (input/output cards and HMI interfaces);
- Certifications are a plus;
- Experience in condensers and defrost systems; and,
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIIES.
- Ability to lead and train a staff of mechanics and technicians;
- Ability to effectively communicate with plant and corporate management about the condition and needs of facility maintenance;
- Knowledge of PSM/Cal-ARP, HACCP, food safety, and related;
- Knowledge in refrigeration and electrical systems;
- Knowledge in CA storage;
- Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration cycles;
- Ability to effectively train, develop and lead employees to perform successfully;
- Ability to be a self-starter and cost-effective/budget focused;
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and have excellent communication skills;
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks;
- Ability to maintain good house cleaning within the department; and,
- Ability to work in, extensive hours, weekends, and be very flexible to compliment operations for continued success.
COMPENSATION.
- Annual compensation offered is $80,000.
