Job Description

Topco Associates is currently seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist for our Produce team in West Palm Beach, FL. This position will be a hybrid role, with the successful candidate conducting work in our West Palm Beach office three days per week and virtually two days per week.

The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible, under general supervision, for the daily execution for the categories they support, ensuring categories are sourced with the highest quality and most competitive costing available, to achieve maximum member participation, and enhance the competitive position and profitability of our Topco member companies. The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting and processing Cost savings projects, achieving department goals in productivity, processing, maintaining, and resolving issues with member orders, plans, schedules, and promotions, and capable of covering the sourcing manager’s desk when necessary.

Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Assist Sourcing Managers with category reviews
  • Cover Sourcing Manager and other Sr. Sourcing Specialists desks n their absence
  • Participate in vendor meetings
  • Process Cost Savings projects
  • Assist in RFP creation and maintenance

 

Member/Vendor (Relationship/Requests)

  • Maintain trusting member/vendor working relationships
  • Timely and effective response to vendor/member inquiries (such as pricing, promos, specs, deductions)
  • Execute for members by maximizing fill rate of orders and making accurate and timely order adjustments (pricing, quantities, pick up locations, routing).
  • Assist on member contract maintenance (signatures, changes).
  • Process new vendor set up requests

 

Operational

  • Request new/updated T&C/COI
  • Data entry, order maintenance, receiving, billing issue resolution, RFQ responses in I Trade
  • Update and maintain item specs
  • Request pricing and promo allowances from supplier
  • Run SAP BI Reports
  • Setup/approve new item requests
  • Daily communication on updates with Produce Logisitics
  • Request/send samples
  • Participate in QA cuttings
  • Participate in office administration duties
  • Participate in vendor packing facilities and farming operations
  • Participate in Trade shows when requested
  • Request and maintain MMU/VI agreements
  • All other duties as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Four-year college degree preferred in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Business Administration or equivalent experience

 

Technical Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, including vast experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed market/supplier research and analysis

 

Previous Experience:

  • 1-5 years’ experience in retail operations, customer service, buyers’ assistance level or equivalent experience
  • Experience with produce or perishable goods required
