Job Description
TITLE: Quality Assurance Inspector
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Seasonal (Approx. April to Oct.)
DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance
REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Supervisor/Area Manager
LOCATION: Watsonville, CA
WAGE: $24.00 to $26.50 / Hourly
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Communication: Strong communication skills; verbal, written, electronic (text, e-mail). Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Teamwork Team player with ability to be adaptable and flexible in a fast paced continuously changing environment.
- Work Ethic Must be dependable and reliable and have strong interpersonal relations skills.
- Physical Ability to lift 10-25 pounds repeatedly. Ability to work in an outdoor environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Fruit Grading: Grades fruit according to established Naturipe Berry Growers standards. Understands concepts of Product Quality inspections and reporting of quality grades, including conducting holding test for Strawberries, Raspberries, and Blackberries. Ability to collect and input data utilizing computer systems.
Reporting: Inform and update the department Supervisor and Manager of any situation that may need their attention or involvement in relation to quality and safety.
Communication: Communicates effectively direct supervisors. Including but not limited to reporting on fruit handing activities at the assigned facility, arrival and quality of product with special consideration to special packs. Maintains open communication with coworkers, receiving personnel, pre-cool personnel, Sales, Growers and admin staff.
Safety: Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all employee safety, product quality, food safety requirements.
Confidentiality: Ensures protection of Naturipe Berry Growers confidential and proprietary information and materials.
Professionalism: Represents Naturipe Berry Growers in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with growers, co-workers, suppliers, customers and the business community at large.
Other: Perform other duties as instructed by cross functional Managers.
Bargaining Unit position. Benefits, Pension, Holiday Pay upon qualification per Collective Bargaining Agreement.
