Job Description

Job Summary:

Plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for the production of all products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. Design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes.

Tasks:

  • Direct production and processing operations.
  • Review processing schedules or production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Review operations to resolve production or processing problems.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance or modification, including the replacement of machines.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to new processes or products.
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods.
  • Ensure compliance to all regulatory audits.
  • Always look at status quo to evaluate and determine if change would enhance operations.
  • Review and evaluate impact of man hour efficiencies and mechanical downtime on bottom line and or budget.
  • Responsible for QA department that must be able to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner. All quality issues are costly and have an impact on bottom line and budget.
  • Evaluate yields on dried fruit and juice operations to make sure that raw product usage is maximized.
  • Improve or establish SPC program
  • Review or create daily reports for yield or production efficiency.

Knowledge:

  • Production and Processing – Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, SPC, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Design – Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Mechanical – Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Mathematics – Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
  • Computers and Electronics – Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • English Language – Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and production methods.
