Job Title: Automated Harvesting Technician

We are seeking a talented and motivated Automated Harvesting Technician to join our team, where you will play a vital role in the rollout and management of our cutting-edge automated harvesting machines. Key Responsibilities:

Training & Leadership: Train machine operators on how to effectively operate and maintain our fleet of automated harvesting equipment, ensuring they are well-prepared for success.

Point of Contact: Act as the main contact for all harvesters within your purview, providing guidance and support as needed.

Comprehensive Equipment Knowledge: Learn every aspect of our equipment—from transportation and maintenance to field utilization—and pass this knowledge on to others.

Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and prioritize Pre-Harvest, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Seasonal maintenance tasks using the Eworks program, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of equipment.

Performance Evaluation: Continuously assess the performance of our automated fleet and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and productivity.

Safety Reporting: Promptly report any safety issues or equipment concerns to Safety Management and General Management teams to ensure a safe working environment.

Process Improvement: Make actionable recommendations to enhance support processes, equipment reliability, and the Eworks program.

Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and report equipment issues that may affect harvesting quality and productivity.

Engagement: Actively participate in automation team meetings to discuss support and Eworks performance, contributing to team goals.

Knowledge Sharing: Provide ongoing high-level training to machine operators and new field technicians to enhance team skills.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems is essential.

Diagram Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams accurately.

Effective Communication: Clear communication skills via cell phone and email, capable of engaging with a larger automated harvesting team.

Project Management: Experience managing multiple projects and solving a variety of technical, personnel, and customer-related issues.

Documentation Skills: Ability to clearly document equipment issues and processes for future reference.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience: 3+ years of experience working with farming, harvesting, or heavy equipment is required.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent people skills, allowing you to build rapport and trust with teammates and customers alike.

Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical inclination with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently. Practical Experience in Troubleshooting Heavy Machinery required.

Tech Savvy: Comfortable with computer systems; capable of installing and updating software, uploading logs, and tagging images.

Flexibility: Adaptable to working conditions typical in a produce harvesting environment.

Relocation: Requires Relocation between Salinas, CA (April to November) and Yuma, AZ (November to April).

Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Driver’s License: Valid California Driver’s License is required.

Salary: $30 – $34 / Hourly
